Description
KAIROS is a CNB Bordeaux 60 cruising sailing yacht built in 2012 by the CNB shipyard in France, with naval architecture by Briand Yacht Design and interior design by Couëdel Hugon Design. She has a length overall of 18.60 m, a waterline length of 16.28 m, a beam of 5.18 m, a draft of 2.95 m and a lightship displacement of 26.70 tonnes. Her hull, superstructure and deck are of composite construction (glass, carbon and polyester with a balsa core).
Designed for short-handed cruising, KAIROS has an ergonomic deck layout with the manoeuvring area brought back to the cockpit. Her rig comprises a black-painted aluminium mast, a carbon Park Avenue boom and a carbon spinnaker pole, with a set of Incidence and North sails: a 94 m² full-batten mainsail, an 82 m² jib, a 44 m² staysail and a 256 m² spinnaker. Harken electric winches, two Facnor furlers, a Lewmar windlass (new in 2022) and a Max Power bow thruster (new in 2024) ease handling. An aft swimming platform, a tender lazarette, davits and a carbon gangway complete the deck equipment.
Below deck, KAIROS accommodates up to 6 guests in three double cabins, with the owner's cabin forward and two guest cabins aft, and a twin crew cabin for two crew, accessible from the deck. The saloon has a dining area and a chart table, and opens onto a well-equipped galley with an induction hob and oven, a Miele dishwasher, a Sharp microwave, refrigerators, a freezer and an ice maker. Webasto reversible air conditioning is fitted, and entertainment is provided by a Toshiba TV and a Bose audio system.
KAIROS is powered by a 180 HP Volvo Penta engine, giving a cruising speed of 8 knots at 1,650 rpm and a range of 1,250 NM at an economic speed of 7 knots. Tank capacities are 1,000 litres of fuel and 1,000 litres of fresh water, and a 280 l/h Searecovery watermaker and an 11 kW Onan generator support her autonomy. Navigation is handled by a full Raymarine electronics package, together with an Iridium phone. All sea cocks and batteries are new and all sails have been serviced.
