If you've been looking for a catamaran that is actually built to sail well and sail fast, then you've found it here. Cahuna is a semi-custom 1280S from the Schionning design group. She was built in South Africa and was sailed under her own bottom to the States! She is equipped to be singlehanded and was built with the twin Yammer diesel option and twin helm wheels. Both main and jib controls are led to the cockpit for easy control and she's rigged for an assy spinnaker with a carbon bowsprit. Twin dagger boards give her a true upwind pointing ability (unless most cruising cats) and, with the boards up, she can pull up to the sandbar of your choice! She was built to be super-light, so the interior is rather sparse and utilitarian but she has all the basic amenities for distance cruising or racing.
